Why an Open Cuff Fits Better Than a Closed Bangle

A closed bangle has to clear the widest part of the hand, which means it is always loose once it is on. An open cuff slides on from the side and sits where you place it, and the gap can be eased very slightly for a closer fit. It is also far easier to put on one-handed.

Wearing It

A cuff is the piece that carries a plain sleeve, so it works hardest with tailoring and long sleeves pushed back. Worn alone it reads smart; worn with two fine chains on the same wrist it softens into something more casual. Keep the stones on the outside of the wrist where they catch the light.

Care

The steel core will not rust, but the plated finish is a surface layer. Take it off before swimming and showering, and avoid opening and closing the cuff repeatedly — metal fatigues at the bend and plating cracks there first. Clean the settings with warm soapy water and a soft brush.

FAQ

Are the stones diamonds?
No. They are cubic zirconia, a laboratory-made diamond simulant. CZ is faceted the same way and throws a comparable white flash, at a fraction of the cost.
